Jennifer Lopez hits Fort Lauderdale Beach

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez hangs out and heats up Fort Lauderdale Beach.

She was also working her next music video during her trip to Fort Lauderdale. No stranger to South Florida as where she is used to the Miami seen.

Maybe the drive a little north has allowed her a little rest and relaxation and hopefully we will get to see more of her in Lauderdale. Rumor has it she finds it just the right pace.

Was Straight NFL Player Booted Because of his LGBT Support?

    Chris Kluwe
The Minnesota Vikings released Chris Kluwe on Monday, leading to speculation that the move was motivated in part by the punter’s prominent role advocating for gay rights.

“So long, Minnesota, and thanks for all the fish!” Kluwe tweeted Monday morning. “Thank you to all the fans, my teammates, and the Wilf family for the past 8.5 years. I wouldn’t have traded it for anything.”

Kluwe’s release wasn’t a complete surprise — the Vikings drafted another punter late last month. But it’s particularly notable because of Kluwe’s increasingly high-profile role as an advocate for LGBT rights.

“Regardless of whether they admit it, the Vikings are jettisoning Kluwe partly because they grew tired of his outspokenness,” wrote Minneapolis Star-Tribune columnist Chip Scoggins on Sunday. “It’s naive to think the move is based solely on his age (31), salary ($1.45 million) or how he performed last season (inconsistently). Kluwe has become the most visible punter in NFL history because of his social activism.”

Kluwe told Scoggins that if he were being jettisoned for his outspokenness, he would be fine with that outcome.

“I think the sacrifice would be worth it,” he said. “Now, I would hope that I would get the chance to play football again, because I think I can still play. But if it ends up being something that costs me that position, I think making people aware of an issue that is causing children to commit suicide is more important than kicking a leather ball.”

Florida may Finally Pass and make it Illegal to Drive & Text

            driving

It looks like Florida is just a signature away from banning texting while driving, joining 39 other states and D.C with having laws against texting and driving. Maybe this is better late than never as accidents and sadly deaths have skyrocketed in recent years.

Thursday, the Senate passed a House-amended version of Use of Wireless Communications Devices While Driving bill, which makes texting, instant messaging, or emailing a secondary offense with a $30 fine. Subsequent violations result in a $60 fine and drivers will be assessed points if they have a repeat offense within five years.

The bill allows for texting at red lights, while pulled over, and if a voice texting system is used.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, texting while driving makes crashes 23 times more likely.

Meanwhile Tallahassee has voted down any texting bans for the past five years, making Florida one of the very last states to restrict cell phones behind the wheel.

So called Ex-Gay denies looking for Dick on Grindr

              r-MATT-MOORE-GRINDR-large570

Matt Moore, you know the one that claims to be an “ex-gay” that was busted for cruising on Grindr earlier this year. Well boy does he try and come up with a hell of a story on this story. Matt says in a new interview that he wasn’t looking for sex on Grindr: He was looking to meet men in New Orleans to take him to gay bars. Moore has since sold his computer and locked his phone so that he can’t “give in to temptation” again.

“Basically I just wanted to see who was on it and who was around me,” Moore, a 24-year-old a blogger for the Christian Post who has called homosexuality sinful and an abomination, said on my SiriusXM radio program. “I can honestly say that I didn’t have any kind of sexual conversations with anyone. Anyone who sent me any kind of explicit photos or conversations, I blocked immediately. The first time I got on it, I wanted to go out and I wanted to go to the gay bars in New Orleans. So I was trying to meet someone on there to basically tag along with. That was the reason I was originally on it.”

What are we really suppose to think that he just wanted to hang and walk around New Orleans with a “buddy”. Noooooooo don’t think so Douche Bag and why don’t you just admit you want to a man to bang you.

Jason Collins Comes Out: NBA Player Becomes First Openly Gay Player

                  index

NBA center Jason Collins has become the first male athlete in a major professional sport to come out as gay.

The 34-year-old, who appeared in 32 games this season for the Celtics before being traded at the deadline along with Leandro Barbosa for guard Jordan Crawford and is now a free agent, tells Sports Illustrated:

“I didn’t set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I’m happy to start the conversation. I wish I wasn’t the kid in the classroom raising his hand and saying, ‘I’m different.’ If I had my way, someone else would have already done this. Nobody has, which is why I’m raising my hand.”

Collins continues, “When I was younger I dated women. I even got engaged. I thought I had to live a certain way. I thought I needed to marry a woman and raise kids with her. I kept telling myself the sky was red, but I always knew it was blue.”

As to why he opted to address his sexuality now, Collins says that he was partly inspired by the Boston Marathon bombings, adding that “it takes an enormous amount of energy to guard such a big secret.”

“I’ve endured years of misery and gone to enormous lengths to live a lie. I was certain that my world would fall apart if anyone knew,” he writes. “And yet when I acknowledged my sexuality I felt whole for the first time. I still had the same sense of humor, I still had the same mannerisms and my friends still had my back.”

WikiLeaks Bradley Manning Namend SF Pride Grand Marshall?

Motion Hearing Held In Bradley Manning Case

SAN FRANCISCO —In one of the more odd moves and decisions for a Pride Parade the city of San Francisco has picked an unlikely Grand Marshall. Racing to stanch a flow of criticism, the president of San Francisco’s annual gay pride celebration said Friday that the U.S. Army private charged in a massive leak of U.S. secrets to the WikiLeaks website will not be an honorary grand marshal after all.

SF Pride Board President Lisa Williams said in a statement that an employee of the organization had prematurely notified imprisoned intelligence specialist Bradley Manning this week that he had been selected for the distinction, which recognizes about a dozen celebrities, politicians and community organizations each year for their contributions to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities.

“That was an error, and that person has been disciplined. He does not now, nor did he at that time, speak for SF Pride,” Williams said.

A committee of former San Francisco Pride grand marshals did select the 25-year-old Manning, who is openly gay, for the honor, but the Pride Board decided his nomination would be a mistake, Williams said.

Manning’s lawyers have argued that his experience as a soldier before the repeal of the U.S. military’s ban on gay service played an important role in his decision to pass hundreds of thousands of sensitive items to the anti-secrecy group WikiLeaks.

“In point of fact, less than 15 people actually cast votes for Bradley Manning,” Williams said. “However, as an organization with a responsibility to serve the broader community, SF Pride repudiates this vote.”

While the event’s grand marshals are typically celebrated as they wave from convertibles during a downtown San Francisco parade, naming Manning as one was destined to be a symbolic gesture. He is in custody at a military prison in Kansas while he awaits court-martial and would have been unable to attend the June 30 parade.

Earlier Friday, Daniel Ellsberg, the former military analyst who in 1971 leaked the classified information about the Vietnam War that became known as the Pentagon Papers, had agreed to participate in the San Francisco parade on Manning’s behalf, said Rainey Reitman, a member of the Bradley Manning Support Network who had cheered the short-lived recognition.

But other gay rights activists were less enthusiastic, saying that Manning should not be honored either as an individual or as a representative of the gay rights movement.

Not so sure that this will be one of their better prides nor will avoid controversy that they don’t need.
